From "Behold It's Christmas" by Fanny Farmer, Dec.1973
" We bought our farm near Economy while the boys were in service in 1945 and moved in February, 1946. I well remember our first Christmas after we moved. Edgar was called at the last minute to serve as Santa Claus for the Sunday School treat following the sevices on Christmas morning. He consented and we didn't tell the children. When he came into the church and our own boys heard Dad's first "Ho! Ho! Ho!" they about split with laughter. They knew it was Dad and he never served as Santa again or lived that experience down."
